INCLUSIVE. LOCAL. FUN.

Welcome to the Severn Valley Youth Football League — the leading league for young people who love to play football in a safe and inclusive environment.

We currently support 60 local youth football clubs, 306 teams, and help over 3,870 local boys and girls to enjoy organised, safe, regular football matches every season. The league was formed in 2016 following a merger of the old Gloucester and Stroud Youth Leagues.

The SVYFL is an England Accredited League and are proud to be the previous winners of the Gloucestershire FA League of the Year award in 2017.

We are acutely aware of the current climate facing all levels of grassroots football up and down the country. Some of the behaviour towards match officials from players, coaches/managers and spectators has been nothing short of appalling.

We are all involved in football as it is something we enjoy, and we want that to continue. All Gloucestershire FA match officials have therefore been contacted to be reminded that they can help by making greater use of sanctions such as sin bins and reporting spectator misconduct, especially in youth football.

Clubs and Leagues have a similar responsibility to ensure this message is reinforced to players, coaches/managers, spectators and committee members – namely: Enough is Enough. Unacceptable and poor behaviour will not be tolerated. We all have a responsibility to set the right standard of behaviours in the game.
Clubs should refer to the codes of conduct to remind players, coaches and spectators of their expected behaviour. More information on codes of conduct can be found via the GFA's Respect page. If there are other areas where you need help or support, don’t hesitate to get in contact with the GFA via Support@Gloucestershirefa.com
